group therapy programs in mill park, bundoora and melbourne's north-east
supporting participation, communication, confidence and everyday life skills
group therapy programs for children, teenagers and young people
At Emble Allied Health, we offer a range of therapy-based group programs, developmental play experiences and skill-building opportunities for children, young people and families across Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Programs are developed and facilitated by our allied health team and may include support from speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, dietitians and other clinicians depending on the focus of each program.
Programs may support:
- communication and social connection
- motor skills, coordination and participation
- emotional regulation and confidence
- school readiness and early learning
- feeding, cooking and life skills
- creativity, play and self-expression
finding a program that fits your child or young person
Every child engages differently — and not every program will suit every child’s goals, stage or support needs in the same way.
Many of our programs are therapist-led capacity building programs designed to support meaningful participation, skill development and real-world outcomes over time. Because of this, we complete an intake and suitability process prior to enrolment for many programs.
This process helps us to:
- understand your child’s strengths, goals and support needs
- determine whether a program is likely to support meaningful outcomes
- ensure the group environment is appropriate and supportive for all participants
- identify any strategies, accommodations or supports that may help your child participate successfully
Our goal is never to exclude children from participation. Instead, we want to ensure children are supported within programs where they can engage meaningfully, build confidence and develop capacity in ways that feel achievable and beneficial for them.

individualised support within group programs
While supports are delivered within a group environment, programs are still guided by individual goals and therapeutic outcomes.
Our clinicians adapt activities, strategies and supports to help participants work toward outcomes that are meaningful and relevant to them, while still benefiting from the shared experiences, participation and connection that group environments provide.
For many term-based therapy programs, this may include:
- pre- and post-program assessment processes
- individualised goal setting
- therapist observation and clinical reasoning throughout the program
- progress feedback and outcome reporting for families
This approach helps ensure participation is not simply group attendance, but a meaningful and outcomes-focused therapeutic experience.
Emble Play operates slightly differently as a developmental playgroup experience rather than a therapy-based capacity building program.
